Louis-Marie Absil

Partner Lawyer — Paris Bar

Louis‑Marie regularly represents the firm’s clients before civil, commercial and criminal courts, as well as in ad hoc arbitration proceedings.

His practice focuses primarily on corporate litigation, shareholder disputes, and commercial litigation, in particular matters relating to the non‑performance or termination of contracts. He has also developed strong expertise in high‑level corporate transaction disputes, including post‑acquisition litigation (notably disputes relating to warranties and indemnities and earn‑out mechanisms), as well as in sports law litigation, acting for professional sports clubs.

In matters of unfair competition, Louis‑Marie regularly assists clients in pre‑litigation procedures under Article 145 of the French Code of Civil Procedure, including evidentiary measures and the seizure of electronic data.

He advises companies in financial distress, both at the prevention stage (ad hoc mandates, conciliation proceedings, negotiations with creditors) and in safeguard, restructuring and liquidation proceedings, including the implementation of safeguard or continuation plans, asset sales, personal sanctions against directors, and claims based on insufficiency of assets.

Finally, he advises and represents executives and corporate officers, both upon taking up and leaving office. He has also developed a practice in financial and business criminal law and is widely recognized for his ability to manage and navigate crisis situations.
