Advising Socibog on the Negotiations for the Sale of Groupe Sud Ouest
Reinhart Marville Torre is advising the family shareholder group of Société Bordelaise de Gestion (Socibog) in connection with its entry into exclusive negotiations for the proposed sale of a majority stake in Groupe Sud Ouest (GSO) to Rossel France, a subsidiary of the Rossel & Cie media group.
Transaction overview
GSO is a regional media group built around the Sud Ouest daily newspaper and a portfolio of print publications, digital operations and audiovisual media, primarily serving western France. It is one of the leading players in the French regional press market.
Rossel is a Belgian family-owned media group historically centred around the newspaper Le Soir and the regional daily press. It operates in several European countries, including France through La Voix du Nord and 20 Minutes France.
The proposed transaction remains subject to consultation with the relevant employee representative bodies. If confirmed, its completion would also be subject to customary regulatory conditions. Completion of the proposed transaction is expected by the end of 2026.
